Thomas and Alexis, two kids under three, and more places worth seeing than we will ever get through. We leave with a general idea and let the road sort out the rest. With two kids this small that probably sounds insane. We think it is the best part.
Someday our kids will ask what we did
while they were little. We want a good answer.
It is bigger than spending our days somewhere that takes your breath away. We are building memories our kids can one day tell their kids. Memories we can sit with when we are old and know we lived a full life, not a copy of the life a million other people lived. The night we all crammed into the 4Runner at Lake Powell beats any cool spreadsheet dad could have built. We want a thousand more nights like it, and we want them all outside.
We pack the night before, leave earlier than we want to, and figure out the rest as we go. If we can do it with two kids under three, the bar is lower than you think.
